Important Questions to Ask your Builder
* How long has this organization been in business?
Royal Oak Homes, Inc. was established and incorporated in
June of 1985. At that time, we opened the doors to our model home
from which we still work. Prior to the inception of Royal Oak Homes,
owner Bill Parsons and his wife, Barbara, built homes for eight
years, which came after years of carpentry work by Mr. Parsons.
We are proud to say that we are one of the few builders in our area
who work out of our original model home of 18 years.
* Has the business name ever been changed for any reason?
If so, when & why?
Although this may seem like an odd question, you may be surprised
to find how easy it is to "change names" or go out of business under
one name and start up under a new name, leaving much debt and past
customers to the wind. We feel it is very important to find out
what the track record is of anyone with whom you would do business.
Royal Oak Homes, Inc. has been Royal Oak Homes, Inc.
since we started in 1985.
* Who are the owners of the business?
William A. Parsons III and his wife Barbara A. Parsons are the originators
and owners of Royal Oak Homes, Inc. The staff, which supports
Mr. & Mrs. Parsons is the second generation of Royal Oak
Homes, Inc. Sherry Buck and Lisa Orehek, their two daughters
and their son, William A. Parsons IV, have grown with home building
as part of daily life.
* Who will I speak to on a daily basis about my home's progress?
During construction you will speak directly with Bill Parsons IV,
the construction superintendent, as well as Sherry Buck, who maintains
daily office operations, and your original Sales and Design Coordinators.
You will speak with Lisa Orehek and your design team until your
home plans suit your family's function and lifestyle and meets your
approval. Your sales Coordinator will be available to you through
the entire construction of your home.
* Are there any hidden costs involved in building my home?
At Royal Oak Homes, Inc. we take the big picture into consideration
when giving you a final price. Our philosophy warrants disclosing
scenarios that other builders may not wish to divulge. Whether you
already own a home site or wish to have us assist you in selecting
one, we will spell out the permit charges, extra fees (if any),
and other related charges prior to construction. Lisa Orehek can
take you through your home on a computer to assure any modifications
you may be considering.
* How much money do I need to start building my home?
At Royal Oak Homes, Inc. we have the advantage of Heritage
Financial Mortgage. Sherry Buck is on site and ready to show you
the best program to finance your home. She is a licensed broker
who has the experience to do so. By consulting with you, she will
find the most cost effective program suited for your needs and make
the mortgage application, thereby offering a simple and hassle free
process. You may be surprised to find that you can build your home
right now!
